Turkish delight for Norbord
Published: 26 October, 2009
Contractors working on the restoration of one of Istanbul’s most important mosques completely enclosed the building with a protective scaffold clad with Norbord’s Sterling OSB.
The Nuruosmaniye mosque, built between 1748 and 1755 on the orders of Sultan Mahmut I, is considered one of the finest examples of Ottoman Baroque architecture in Turkey.
Norbord’s Sterling OSB, an engineered wood based panel designed for construction and other industrial uses was supplied by Norbord distributor, Finar Group, to provide a temporary enclosure for craftsmen working on the mosque’s façade and to protect passers-by from the risk of falling debris.
