A war of words has broken out between leading Italian woodworking technology exhibition Xylexpo and newer rival Technodomus.
Industry giant Biesse, Cefla Finishing and SCM Group have released a statement saying they would not exhibit at Xylexpo next year but focus on Technodomus in Rimini, run by Fiera di Rimini.
In an earlier statement Xylexpo organiser ACIMALL (the Italian woodworking machinery and tools manufacturers’ association) said Technodomus had put itself on a collision course with Milan-based Xylexpo by running its show just ten days before.
ACIMALL described the challenge as “absurd” and bad for the Italian woodworking industry.
But a statement released by Biesse, Cefla and SCM – who jointly claim a 50% share of Italian woodworking machinery production – said they had accepted the offer of exhibiting at Technodomus for cost efficiency reasons.
