Metsäliitto and Vapo examine biofuel venture
Published: 08 June, 2009
A wood based biofuels project in the Baltic Sea region is being explored by the Metsäliitto Group and Vapo.
The partners are also assessing alternative locations around the Baltic rim. Sites in Kemi and Aänekoski in Finland, Jönköping in Sweden and Kunda in Estonia are being investigated as possible locations.
“Liquid biofuels are one possible line of development for new wood based products, and we want to take a closer look at it,” said Metsäliitto group president and ceo Kari Jordan.
