IKEA to transfer particleboard business

IKEA plans to transfer its particleboard production group, currently part of its furniture manufacturing group Swedwood, to the Swedspan Group from September 1.
IKEA established its particleboard manufacturing group Swedspan in Hultsfred, Sweden, last year.
Bruno Winborg, chairman of the board of Swedwood and Swedspan, said in a statement that negotiations had been initiated with employee representatives, and that the transfer was intended to enter into force on September 1, 2009.
