Management of the Engineered Wood Journal, the official publication of APA -The Engineered Wood Association, for the past 10 years, has been transferred to the Engineered Wood Technology Association (EWTA) under an agreement between the two related non-profit associations.
The transfer is part of a cost-cutting effort by APA in response to the continuing housing market slump and resulting reduction in member dues income.
“Turning management of the Journal over to EWTA provides a way to maintain this important tool for information exchange between APA and EWTA members, as well as the broader industry, while permitting APA to focus more closely on core services and activities,” said APA president Dennis Hardman. “It’s a good fit for EWTA precisely because its primary purpose is to serve as an information clearing house for the industry.”
Under the arrangement, the publication will become the official publication of both APA and EWTA. Jack Merry, former APA industry communications director and editor of the Journal, will continue to serve as editor of the biannual publication under a contract agreement with EWTA.
