Panels hold the lead in China’s wood products
Published: 16 September, 2008
China’s State Forestry Administration has recently published 2007 production data for lumber and wood based panels. Panel production continued to well outpace lumber output, just as it has since 2000.
The annual combined output of plywood, blockboard, fibreboard (largely MDF and HDF) and particleboard jumped to 84.5 million m3, a 17% increase over 2006.
New production records were set for plywood, blockboard and fibreboard.
Since the beginning of the decade the output of wood based panels has quadrupled.
