Oregon mill goes up in smoke
Published: 16 October, 2008
As many as 60 people are out of work after a recent fire destroyed a veneer mill near Creswell, Oregon.
No one was injured at the Bald Knob Veneer Company. Workers say that sparks from welding igniting a pile of wood shavings was the probable cause.
The mill supplies veneer to a plywood plant in Springfield. Production has been halted.
