BSW Timber has revived its interest in modified wood technology as part of its wide-ranging product development programme.
Intelligent Wood Technologies Ltd is the name of the division within BSW looking at the modification of softwood to give performance properties similar to tropical hardwood.
BSW started exploring wood modification towards the end of last year by setting up Intelligent Wood. Since then Roy Tilleard and Justin Martin, who were the executive chairman and chief finance officer of the former modified wood company Kurawood Ltd, have been brought on board as additional directors of Intelligent Wood.
