Dieffenbacher has agreed with Metso to take over its Panelboard business in Nastola, Finland and in Sundsvall, Sweden.
The refiner-related operations in Sundsvall, Sweden, will remain in Metso's ownership and are not included in the deal, the value of which was not disclosed.
The investment is in line with Dieffenbacher's strategy to grow its core business. The company will take on all 60 employees in Nastola and 40 in Sundsvall.
Strengthening its capacity and know-how to supply complete panel plants using in-house equipment, Dieffenbacher says it will market the ClassiFormer, ClassiScreen, Lukki handling system, two-stage RAS fibre dryer, EVOjet and Z-sifter, including related services.
Dieffenbacher's turnover in 2006 was e260m and the group currently employs over 900 people worldwide.
