OSB plant fire damage runs into six figures

Egger estimates that the damage caused by an OSB fire at its Wismar plant in June will run into six figures.

The cause of the fire, which occurred overnight, is still under investigation.

Egger said the fire would have an impact on the tight OSB supply situation.

No-one was injured and surrounding buildings were unaffected by the blaze, which was caused by an explosion.

An explosion at Egger’s Brilon particleboard plant in Germany earlier this year killed three workers.
