Patented green veneer moisture measuring system

Westmill Industries, based in Vancouver BC, have recently received an order from West Fraser Mills Ltd, Canada, for a Westmill LightSORT (GVMM) green veneer moisture measuring system.

Westmill Industries has been providing machinery and spare parts to the plywood industry since 1975.

Its patented LightSORT (GVMM) system is a non contact, vision based green veneer moisture sorting technology and is said to be accurate at all moisture levels, for all peel thicknesses and species.

This will be Westmill’s fourth LightSORT system installation. The system is also providing the plant management the information necessary to further reduce downstream variations in its plywood production process.
