IWPA approves new veneer standard
Published: 07 July, 2010
The International Wood Products Association (IWPA) has approved a new voluntary veneer grade.
The Product Standard for Imported Rotary Cut Wood Veneer and Platforms supersedes the Product Standard for Imported Wood Veneer and Platforms.
“Taking into account that veneer faces continue to be thinner and thinner, we realised that it was time to overhaul the standard,” said IWPA veneer committee chairman Bronson Newburger.
The new specifications establish minimum acceptable requirements for each grade and reflect the way veneers are being used currently.
