Brazil’s’ newest MDF producer Floraplac Industrial MDF Ltda is to launch by early July its first Chinese-built fibreboard line, using eucalyptus wood in the northern city of Paragominas.
Following in the footsteps of Sudati, another Brazilian plywood maker turned MDF manufacturer, Floraplac has installed a 120,000m3/year line supplied by Dieffenbacher subsidiary SWPM.
In early June, industry specialists from the Brazilian consultancy Organon Consultoria e Engenharia were training 70-strong operational team of workers ready to start up Floraplac’s new plant.
The Para State company aims to start introducing wood from the fast growing, high density paricá local planted hardwood species to the fibre mix. This is said to be the first time an MDF producer has made used of this raw material.
