LP plant earns safety award

LP’s OSB mill in Tomahawk, Wisconsin has earned the coveted Innovation in Safety Award in the latest Safety and Health Awards Program sponsored annually by APA – The Engineered Wood Association for the structural wood panel and engineered wood products industry.

The LP plant took the prize for designing and deploying a special outside debarking and conveyor system for stringy bark species that mitigates debarker discharge plug-ups and the risks associated with clearing the raw material bottlenecks by hand.
