In early November, Egger UK in Hexham, Northumberland, was granted planning permission for a new resin plant.

Over £20m will be invested to create a state-of-the-art resin production facility, which will continue to trade as Campact Ltd, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Egger.

Campact's existing resin plant on the Hexham site will close when the new facility comes into production, within the next two years.

Resins for particleboard production and for the impregnation of decor papers will be produced in the new facility, meeting the latest emissions standards.

This is just the latest in a long line of investments at Egger's particleboard factories in Hexham and Barony in the last five years, as well as in recycled timber supply subsidiary Timberpak.

Further investments are in the pipeline.
