Brazilian panels giant Duratex is upgrading melamine faced MDF and particleboard to HighGloss surface boards with Kleiberit HotCoating technology.

Kleiberit has developed this technology with the Spanish machine builder Barberan.

Duratex SA is said to be the largest industrialised panel manufacturer in the Southern Hemisphere and one of the top ten in the world.

Sao Paulo-based Duratex is running the production of HighGloss panels with a huge HotCoating production line.

This 2.4m width line is designed to upgrade melamine faced MDF and particleboard with a high resistant, mirror-like decorative layer.

This investment by Duratex is aimed to achieve added-value products including the focus on environmental sustainability.

HotCoating from Kleibert was included in that package of investments.

Duratex is now offering a wide range of decors under the brand name Cristallo to the local market as well as for export.
