The US Consumer Products Safety Commission (CPSC) has ended its investigation of Lumber Liquidators’ Chinese-made laminate flooring and will not issue a full product recall. Lumber Liquidators has agreed to the following:

- Cease all sales of Chinese-made laminate wood flooring (any future sale, disposal or transfer of the inventory can only take place with CPSC's approval);

- Conduct testing over a three-year period as part of a program for consumers who purchased Chinese-made laminate flooring from the company from February 2012 through May 2015;

- Undertake remediation in homes where the company's Chinese-made laminate flooring is found to emit elevated levels of formaldehyde.

As of May 2015, Lumber Liquidators has ceased selling Chinese-made laminate flooring and is now only selling flooring sourced from North America and Europe.

Lumber Liquidators have tested Chinese-made laminate flooring in approximately 1,300 consumer's homes, and none of the tested flooring has been above the remediation guideline.

The CPSC is advising consumers to not pull up Chinese-made laminate flooring, but instead contact Lumber Liquidators and participate in the testing and remediation programme.
