Century Plyboards sets up a processing plant in Laos

Century Plyboards (India) Ltd has set up a plywood veneer production plant in Laos to cater for the Indian market, reports the International Tropical Timber Organization (ITTO).

This is the company's second unit overseas, the first being in Myanmar. The plant, with three peelers and four driers, can process around 150m3 of logs per day.

The new facility is located in the Bolikhamsai province, home to Nam Theun 2 Dam, the country's largest hydroelectric project.

Century Plyboards manufactures plywood, laminate sheets, fibreboard, marine wood, MDF boards, sunmica and veneer wood.
