Arauco’s Grayling particleboard and lamination facility sets new bar
24 April 2019Arauco’s vision to build one of the world’s largest and most important particleboard operations has to come to life in Grayling, Michigan. The plant features North America’s largest single continuous particleboard press (170ft) and will be one of the most productive in the world.
The plant is a state-of-the-art manufacturing operation which will produce world-class decorative wood panel products used in home interiors and furniture across North America.
Arauco, global producer of wood products, invested US$450m into the 820,000ft2 facility that includes the single-line particleboard press and two thermally fused laminate (TFL) lines. The mill has a total production capacity of 452 million ft2 (¾in basis). This is the first greenfield composite panel facility completed in the US in nearly 20 years.
