AFPA members produce C$615m in Q3 2012

Values of lumber, panelboard, and pulp and paper manufactured by Alberta Forest Products Association (AFPA) member companies totalled approximately C$615m in Q3 2012.

The value of production was up C$66m or 12% from the same period last year and increased roughly C$33m or 6% from Q2 2012.

"These numbers are great news for communities in Alberta that depend on the forest industry," said AFPA president and ceo Brady Whittaker.

AFPA-member panelboard operators produced 265 million ft2 of 7/16in equivalent product in Q3 2012 valued at C$92m.
